I'm twenty-three later today....I'm sitting here, still trying to figure out what exactly that means. I'm also kind of lost as to what's next. The kid part of me is overjoyed at the idea of having free time again to catch up on all the video games, anime and manga that I've fallen behind in, while the adult part is sitting here wondering how to move forward. At present, I'm picking up more hours at work, saving up in a waitress position that I'm way overqualified for with my degree. While waiting tables is a great paycheck, I feel like I'm meant for something better than living off of waitress wages. I've applied to teach English in Japan and am waiting to hear back from them because that will ultimately decide how I'm spending the next year or so.

I somehow managed to meet all my deadlines, two 23 page papers, one 5 pager, one 9 pager, a website and a written final later, I'm finished with my Bachelor's degree.
SO!!

What do you want to see me draw? I feel like I'm in a bit of a rut, so throw out some ideas. It can be any of my characters, or a theme or both!

it feels good to be back, and I don't wanna look at Microsoft Word again for a LONG LONG time.

I Never Meant for this to Happen

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 17, 2009, 11:15 AM

I graduate on December 19th. That's provided I get the following done:
-Hypertext story [google it, it's awkward to explain]
[Status: Barely started. I have the layout pretty much nailed, the characters roughly sketched (mentally), and the vaguest idea of a storyline].

-Final Paper for Senior Seminar
[Status: Research started. It's a paper explaining how the artifact of horror is related in our society through oral tradition, visuals, media and commodities.]

-Final Paper for Rhetorical Criticism
[Status: Research started. Keeping in the same vein as my other paper, I'm analyzing the media portrayal of vampires through ideological criticism. I need to pick artifacts to start looking at!]

-Final Paper for Race and Ethnicity
[Status: Not started yet, but it's not one I need to do research for. The topic is "What would it be like if universities stopped looking at race for scholarships and focused solely on personal merits (like grades and other activities)]

-My Independent Study
[Status:???? We haven't really set anything up, but I'm sure I need at least one wrap-up paper in there]

That's a lot.

Looking for suggestions from you guys...

I have an assignment in my computers and writing class to "write an original work of fiction or poetry....include at least four visual images that are incorporated into the work; in other words the graphics should serve a purpose in the content of the hypertext, not just window dressing"

Not a problem, really, considering that I've already got two or three storylines and character drawings to go along with it....however, I'm curious to know what your opinions are.

Should I go ahead and use the first ten pages of "Darkness and Roses" for this? Or would you prefer me to continue reformatting "Harmonixer's Tail" to a readable, text [non-script] format? Are you more into the idea of seeing different characters and stories coming from me [in which case I'd start penning a whole new storyline]?

There are some really cool examples of what we're supposed to be doing in the following links:

[link] <<--This one is actually kind of interesting so long as your quicktime/flash works, since it puts up a sentence at a time with music underneath to set the mood of the piece.

[link] <<--More traditional, but the way in which they link to different parts of the story is kinda interesting.

So yes. Feedback greatly appreciated. Oh, I know I have one more fiction piece in my gallery that I didn't offer up as an option and that's due to the fact that it's solely fanficition. I wouldn't be comfortable using that for class since it's technically copyrighted characters *sweatdrop*

In other spaztic news, we leave for Nekocon a week from Thursday. Crazy, right??

Still alive over here guys....
Been trying to adjust, this is my second week of classes starting today. I'm on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays. Every other day of the week I'm at work T-T (hence the lack of updates).

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good website to find out about scheduled J-Rock concerts. I've been dying to go to one but I can't seem to find any reliable listings (and I know for a fact some of you are diehard J-Rock fans, HELP ME OUT!!!).

I've been sketching at work on receipt paper when it's been slow, but it's always in pen and nothing worth sharing. Sorry loves.

Also think that I'm fighting off a cold before it gets too strong...
